Lotus Releases and Melotron Recordings present for the forthcoming Record Store Day the live reproduction of “White Light / White Heat” by Velvet Underground, performed by this is nowhere. In the evening of 2/3/14 in The Residents Bar, Thessaloniki, This Is Nowhere (featuring Sonny Touch in “The Gift” and “Sister Ray”) proceeded in a reconstruction of “White Light / White Heat” by following its exact flow.
“White Light / White Heat” has been a key album that had a huge impact, bore and introduced music genres influencing a large number of bands. This Is Nowhere approached the album in a quite vigorous way focusing on its more electric sides. With a solid perfromance, they gain a lot of force and energy paying tribute to a historic album.
This Is Nowhere is a group of the wider psychedelic rock music style, based on Thessaloniki and they have released two singles in the Thessaloniki based label Hands In Sand (www.facebook.com/hands.insand.3) and two albums in the German label Nasoni Records. They are already known in the European psychedelic rock audiences by playing with technique, solidness, intensity and passion leaving enough space for sonic explorations.
The album “This Is Nowhere Doing White Light/White Heat” will be released on 16/4 in 250 handnumbered copies, in white coloured vinyl & insert with a cd included and with the proper mastering for each format. The album cover was created by Original Replica and was printed using silkscreen printing. Orestis Patsinakidis was the sound engineer, the mixing was carried out by J. Runt and K. Fragkopoulos while Christos Megas did the mastering.
