Elliott Murphy and his Brother formed the backbone of the Murphys, a New York Underground Garage and Psych Rock Band (13th Floor Elevators covers as early as 1967). When time came to record a demo for a major label deal, tensions within the band erruptet and they broke up. Instead of folding , Elliott, his brother and a dear friend recorded the whole original material with 2 guitars and a bass guitar only. What we get here is an incredible mix of Goofball drenched No Wave Cool , 60ties leads, fantastic jangling westcoast style guitars, superb bass, stunning vocals amazing Storytelling and songwriting, like only Elliott can. Imagine Lou Reed’s „New York“ album recorded in 1972 and without drums.....great and unreleased at the time New York garage rock.
Most songs would later resurface on Elliotts first LP „Aquashow“, but complete different sound and feel. If you wanna experience the true genuis behind Elliott Murphy..this is it!
