In October 2023, ANAZITISI Records celebrates 20 years as a record label, so we proudly present the official release of the previously unissued album by ASHHOLLOW.
ASHHOLLOW, the band, formed in 1973, Oklahoma USA. After some personnel changes they took their final form in 1975 with Bill Kirtley: vocals, guitar, Mike Stewart: vocals, guitar, Mike Hanna: vocals, bass and Gary Bruce: drums.
They played locally in clubs and concerts and had their own compositions written by all 4 members. Besides the original material (most of it, is presented here) they played a variety of covers by bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, CSN&Y, Kansas etc.
Their music is ranged between hard rock with many psych underground vibes and progressive rock with jazzy overtones. Wishbone Ash, Primevil, Majic Ship, Hard Meat even quieter and less polished Ashbury come in mind…
This album was made from an original reel-to-reel tape, recorded on January 30, 1976. All live in the studio with no overdubs. The tape contains 11 songs in total but we used only the 9 of them because of vinyl limitations. Soon after the recordings, ASHHOLLOW came to a halt.

Limited to 200 black copies and 100 coloured copies.

There are some more samples in youtube from a 6-track CD (or CDR) of unknown origin which had been released some years ago without the band¢s knowledgement/permission making the members to wonder how and from whom these tracks had been discovered. All these 6 songs, now without that lousy externally added reverb effect (as appears on the CD) and carefully remastered from the original master tapes, are included in our vinyl edition.
