These two albums (vol.1 & vol.2) document the beginning and developmentof Barcelona’s progressive scene between 1969 & 1971, the genesis of progressive rock in Spain by the hands of a bunch of visionary youngsters grouped around Els 4 Vents label. Máquina!, Vértice, Estratagema, Génesis, Agua De Regaliz are some of the bands which appearedin that exciting period which had it’s most visible facts in Els 4 Vents/Diabolo labels adventure and festivals such as Primer Festival Permanente de Musica Progresiva (organized by Oriol Regás, of Bocaccio nightclub fame).
These compilations also cover the fertile Seville scenewith bands such as Mane-Gong, Green Piano, Nuevos Tiempos (with Gualberto as an exceptional guest), Smash or Gualberto himself. Many artists from Seville tried the Barcelona route, moving to the catalan capital torecord their tracks. Al promising start of a musical revolution which could have changed Spain’s musical landscape but failed to do so....
