Leaded by a young and stylish Peter Frampton (he was voted “the face” of 1968), The Herd released six 45s plus an album for Fontana between 1967 and 1968. Today, they are remembered for being Frampton’s first famous band but in fact they also were a fine mod- pop- psych outfit. On this compilation, you’ll find the best tracks from their only album plus other songs from non- LP 45s. A fest of Swingin’ London mod- psych with such classics like “From the underworld”, “Paradise Lost”, “I don’t want our loving to die” and lesser known but excellent pop- psych tracks like “She loves me, she loves me not”, “Our fairytale”, “Miss Jones”…
